It was around 2:00 pm on Tuesday 13 August 2019, when President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the Equatorial Guinean head of state, welcomed Evaristo Calvalho, the President of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe. President Calvlho had just landed at the Malabo International Airport where the two heads of state were happy to meet for the start of a visit placed under the sign of frienship and fraternity.
After having received the mili- tary honors, President Calvalho with President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo besides him, wat- ched diverse folk dance groups that perform to show him the Equatorial Guinean people’s fra- ternity towards the people of Sao Tome and Principe.
Among the personnalities who welcomed President Calvalho, were Mr. Jerónimo Osa Osa Ekoro, the Secretary General of the ruling majority party, the PDGE, but also numerous leaders of the opposition parties, mem-
bers of the government, and of the diplomatic missions in Malabo. Later in the afternoon, the two heads of state led their respective delegations during the working sessions of their two countries’ joint commission.
